Pizza’s here Eric shouts then glances over at Reece, eyeing his underwear. Yeah, sure, part of the mention was that he just hadn’t fixed it yet and was going to, but I like the realism of that little bit. Another little tidbit that I felt was perfect was how when the hockey guys walked into a party after a game, it mentioned that one of them was missing a tooth, and you rarely seem to hear that kind of thing in hockey romances it seems. I loved that Sugar’s guardian or only family left ran a strip club, and that it was used in this story not as a sleazy drug-filled place, but as a respectable (or as much as possible) type of place. And then, Zack, hot, sexy, sweet, I want him for myself! I loved so many little things about this book as well though. I also seemed to have forgotten just how hot and steamy this authors books are, and was very happy to read and enjoy the naughty bits in this story. It’s been a while since I read a book by this author, who is one of my favorites, but I was hooked from page one! It seemed a bit long before we did find out just exactly how having Zack as her boyfriend would be something to help her with her law school goals, that is probably part of what kept me on the edge of the seat as I read.

She is so bad ass and tough and with a tragic past that has definitely shaped her to be who she is now. However I feel that it was part of getting to know Onyx through everyone else before getting her POV (which we don’t get until like chapter 24 I think) It just seemed like too many cooks in the kitchen. The plot twist at the end had me talking to myself aloud in shock! I picked up the second book immediately because I needed to know what happened!! (This was book one of the duet)Īt first I didn’t think I would like the book because there was too many POVs aside from the two main characters. □️ #books #bookstagram #bookshelf #book #bookreview #bookstagrammer #booksta #booklover #review #aliceinwonderland #queenofmadness #wickedwonderland #wickedwonderlandduet #leejacquot #leejacquotbooksĮverything I love mafia, bodyguard, possessive morally grey characters oof □□□ This was my first book by Lee Jacquot and I am not disappointed. I just can't wait to read the second book. I usually hate when there's a cliffhanger at the end but it did not disturb me. It kept me interested throughout the book. The plot was also really interesting, it wasn't just a love story and I liked it a lot. And I could actually feel the romantic tension growing between them. They were such a powerful and beautiful couple. I loved Maddy and Kilo, they were so interesting. Lee really did a great work with the elements inspired from Alice in Wonderland. The plot, the characters, the emotions, the pace, the spice. Jennifer Lawrence is excellent as Katniss. Think about when you were 17, would you have been able to unite people against your oppressors? That's a really horrifying thought - and that was the point Collins was trying to make. The original point of the novel series was how kids were forced to fight in the arena, and how a kid actually became the most important person to the resistance. The most horrifying thing is when you realise how young Katniss actually is. When we know everything has gotten to her, we know what she is sensitive, we know that everything has actually touched her. In a badly written version of the novels Katniss would behave like nothing ever bothered her, which would make her just seem violent and rash. I love The Hunger Games trilogy mostly because it is so dark and brutal, and even if Katniss does what she has to do, she still suffers from everything that has happened. So Blue turns to her diary and her unique way of seeing the world through her camcorder to express herself. : Mistletoe and Mochas (Holidays and Heroes) (9781942258018) by Eddy, Patricia D. Not to mention the ‘hero’ is the one with the issues. Blue thinks and feels very deeply about life but can't really talk to anyone about it, because no one in the Gadsby family wants to address the real problem - that Blue's twin sister, Iris, died a year ago, and they are all just trying to hide their grief in busyness. It was so exhilarating to read a book where the lead female has a backbone and is not a push over. The enigmatic Joss moves in next door and Blue thinks she might be falling in love, until he takes out her older sister Flora instead (who, incidentally, is trying to make a statement by dying her hair bright pink but no one takes the blindest bit of notice). Eddy - She has worked with From Jess to You Services through the businesss virtual assistance services. Both her parents seem more interested in their careers than the family, leaving Blue and her three siblings as well as their three pet rats (who may or may not be pregnant), in the care of Zoran the au pair. Being a combination of conventional diary entries and transcripts of videos shot by the author on the camera she was given for her 13th birthday, and beginning at the end of summer.īluebell Gadsby is 13 but that's the least of her problems. After a few years a momentous and life-wrenching experience propels the boy to journey in search of his past and identity. Related-wizards, magic, childhood and education of Merlin, identity, amnesia, second sight, friends, King Arthur, prophecy, human relationship to nature and animals He may have the soul of a wizard, but certainly also the arrogance of one, and not balanced or kept in check by the self-restraint and wisdom necessary to be a great wizard. He is the young Merlin, before he has learned wisdom. Barron points out that there is no established canon for Merlin's childhood. My oldest was disappointed because the story didn't seem to be truly Merlin to him. In this series, Merlin's childhood is only loosely linked to the Merlin that the world recognizes, but I can see glimpses of the Merlin that Emrys will become. The language of The Lost Years of Merlin is not difficult or even challenging, but the description requires some lingering and rumination to appreciate the story. The pace is slower than what is currently popular because there is meaning in every part of the story. Barron always writes with a consciousness of nature and spirituality.
